Meagan Duffy VMD, MS-TCVM

Dr. Meagan Duffy grew up just outside of Baltimore, MD, and graduated with honors from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. In 2004, she graduated as a Dean’s List student from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine, with an additional certificate from the Wharton School of Business. Following graduation, Dr. Duffy practiced conventional veterinary medicine for small animals for six wonderful years in Rochester, New York. Wanting to be closer to family, Dr. Duffy moved back to the D.C. Metro area in 2010, and began working as a relief veterinarian at various clinics, and doing conventional medicine house calls. Though Dr. Duffy had been drawn to acupuncture and to traditional medicine’s elegant complexity for many years, she finally had the opportunity in 2012 to begin study of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine at the Chi University in Florida with Dr. Shen Xie.

Dr. Duffy is a certified TCVM Practitioner, with certifications in Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA), Tui-Na (CVTP), Traditional Chinese Food Therapy (CVFT), and Chinese Veterinary Herbal Therapy (CVCH). Additionally, Dr. Duffy holds a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine through the Institute, which required both continued advanced acupuncture study, as well as research work on her chosen topic of investigation, The Efficacy of Acupuncture on Companion Animals with Osteoarthritis. Dr. Duffy is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, and the World Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Duffy shares her home with her husband and children, and a true canine character, Putt Putt the Pug. Outside of work, she enjoys lifting heavy weights, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.
